WOW and the Web Marketing Association Collaborate on an International Web Design Contest
Folsom, CA. April 11, 2005 – The World Organization of Webmasters (WOW), a non-profit professional association, and the Web Marketing Association (WMA) announced today that they will work together on a new international web design contest entitled the WOW Web Professional Excellence Awards kicking off later this year.
Both organizations are web-contest veterans: WOW (www.joinwow.org) has hosted the Iron Chefs of Web Services Challenge, the WOWIron Chef of Web Design Competition, the WOWIron Chef of Web Design for Education Web Professionals, the International Web Design Contest for industry professionals and students in high school and college, and the WOWIron Chef of Information Security.
WMA is the producer of the WebAward Competition (www.2005webaward.org), the premier industry based awards for web site development. The WMA also produces the Internet Advertising Competition Awards (www.iacaward.org) , and the Interactive Investor Relations Awards (www.iiraward.org ). The ninth annual WebAward Competition is now under way at www.2005webaward.org and the deadline for entry is June 1, 2005
"Awards are a great way to recognize and reward professional development", said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. "We are please to work with WOW to develop and promote this new program which focuses on educational criteria developed initially for WOW's certification programs."
"Our student awards and our Iron Chef competitions have been a great way for Webmasters to show off their skills," said Bill Cullifer, Executive Director of WOW. "This new competition will use the same criteria as our student competition and make it available to the professional Webmaster. We are please to be working with the Web Marketing Association on developing this program."
The award program is scheduled to launch in September 2005 and the Guidelines will be posted on both the WOW website ( http://www.joinwow.org/) and the WMA site ( http://www.webmarketingassociation.com/) in July of 2005.
